This party is designed for pre-teens aged 8–12 and teens and their caregivers. We will dismantle menstrual taboos and foster confidence and body literacy among the participants! My goal is to take out the awkwardness and facilitate empowering conversations between parents and daughters so they can understand exactly what's happening in their amazing bodies! Let me do the hard work and open the door for you to create a safe, welcoming space for your daughter to ask questions, feel heard, and feel excited for their first period!
Workshop Highlights:
Comprehensive understanding of internal and external anatomy
Insight into the four phases of the menstrual cycle
Exploration of physical and emotional changes throughout the cycle
Introduction to cycle charting techniques
Overview of various menstrual products, including eco-friendly options (I'll walk you through exactly how to create Period Prep Kits so your daughter is ready!)
Everything will be age-appropriate, of course, and I promise we will have some FUN too! We'll also review what's normal with your daughter's first periods, because if more parents understood that having irregular cycles were completely normal in the beginning, I'm confident that way less young girls would be put on the pill to "regulate" their cycle (ps-it doesn't regulate their cycle, it shuts it down completely, and it increases their risk of depression by 130% for the rest of their life).
$30 per girl and mother/caregiver
